Our flagship club, Hydes Lions FC Under-16s, part of our 'Football Development Programme', are the 2024/25 FA Walsall Junior Youth League Champions. Voices often unheard were the focus of the ICB Steering Group Meeting, where CEO Rugz Henry joined Anna Birch from the NHS ICB and Carlene Taylor of We Are Able CIC. The discussion centred on lived experiences within primary care for people with learning disabilities, autism, and neurodiversity. Insights explored ways to improve services and access. The opening of the Community Red Social Supermarket in Wednesbury brought together our CEO Rugz Henry, Community Red founder Kloe Avon, and Sandwell Council representatives, including CEO Shokat Lal. During a visit to the Sandwell Start Up Hub in Oldbury, CEO Rugz Henry met Mayor Richard Parker to discuss Vocal Rogue® initiatives supporting growth, wellbeing, and opportunity across the community. Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick hosted CEO Rugz Henry and ITV News reporter Mark Gough for a tour of the new facility. The visit was part of our partnership with Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. He also recorded Podcast Episode 20, “Access to Information – MMUH,” with CEO Toby Lewis and Paediatrician Dr Nick Makwana. A valuable moment highlighting transparency, access, and community engagement in healthcare.

Students from St Michael’s CE High School’s “Student Voices” project in Rowley Regis welcomed CEO Rugz Henry to discuss tackling challenges locally and globally. Conversations encouraged these future leaders to “Be Great!” Inspired by their motto, “21 Acts of Kindness,” the students demonstrated empathy, creativity, and leadership. A defining moment celebrating the next generation shaping our communities.

The Pavilion at West Smethwick Park hosted the launch of Sandwell Catalyst, bringing together CEO Rugz Henry, co-founders, and lead partner SWEDA, funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority. Designed to support social entrepreneurs and local businesses, the initiative provides access to funding, mentorship, and training. Its aim is to break down barriers and help missions grow, connect, and innovate. A defining step in strengthening local enterprise and social impact.

Sandwell Volunteer Managers and sector leaders joined CEO Rugz Henry at the Sandwell Volunteer Forum to share insights, celebrate volunteers, and support sector growth. Hosted by SCVO and Let’s Go Sandwell, the event highlighted best practices and encouraged collaboration. Discussions focused on strengthening communities and inspiring lasting impact. The Joshua Ribera Achievement Awards in Birmingham celebrated young people transforming their academics, behaviour, and outlook, with CFO Charelle Kerr and CFO Rugz Henry joining the Mirror Walkabout Performers. Hosted by founder Alison Cope, the event recognised resilience, growth, and the power of positive change. The awards highlighted the impact of opportunity, support, and belief. A defining celebration of young people shaping brighter futures.

In Kingswinford, Dudley, CEO Rugz Henry joined Lynne Baird MBE, founder of The Daniel Baird Foundation, at the UK’s first dual Defibrillator and Bleed Control Cabinet. As advocates of the “Control The Bleed” initiative, we support this 21st-century life-saving kit. The defibrillator was donated by West Midlands Ambulance Service, with the bleed kit provided by The Daniel Baird Foundation. A defining step in community preparedness and saving lives.

At Sandwell Council House, CFO Charelle Kerr and CEO Rugz Henry joined Dr Lisa McNally for Vocal Rogue Podcast Episode 19, “Mental Health – Raising Awareness.” The discussion highlighted that mental health does not discriminate, affecting people of all ages, backgrounds, and communities. It reinforced the importance of understanding, support, and open conversation. A defining step in raising awareness and promoting wellbeing across our communities.
